AWS Weldmex-FABTECH-Metalform Mexico Continues to Break Records

Dearborn, MI., May 10, 2013 – The AWS Weldmex-FABTECH-Metalform Mexico Expo extended its streak of 5 years of exhibit space and attendance records yesterday in Monterrey, Mexico.  Exhibit space of 77,400 net sq. ft. increased 14% and attendance of 9396 increased 32% over the same event in 2011.  The event is now the largest manufacturing show in Latin America. The positive outlook for  Mexican manufacturing including automotive, aerospace, appliance, electronics, construction and infra-structure, petro chemical was evident at this year’s event. The show featured 384 exhibitors from North America, Asia, Europe, UK, India and Latin America looking at Mexico for access to the US Marketplace. Several exhibitors increased their space this year to promote the latest technologies in manufacturing.  Some of the largest manufacturers in Mexico in attendance included Caterpillar, PEMEX, John Deere, Whirlpool, GM, Volkswagen, Ford, Bombardier, Lear, Magna, Siemens and more. Exhibitors were impressed with the quantity and quality of attendees who attended. Visitors came from all areas of Mexico and South America to find the right equipment to meet their production needs. Monterrey is a major industrial hub for manufacturing in Latin America. “Throughout the course of the show attendees expressed the event was the place to be to see the latest technology, experience live equipment demonstrations and connect face-to-face with suppliers who offered solutions to help them achieve better results said Chuck Cross, show director”.  “Several attendees said it was the best show they ever attended in Mexico”.  “In fact, our event won the award last year for the best event in Northern Mexico, stated Cross.” The combined event rotates each year between two principal business cities, Monterrey and Mexico City.  Together, AWS Weldmex, FABTECH Mexico and Metalform Mexico showcase technologies from welding and cutting products, thermal spray, metal finishing and safety equipment, metalforming products, including tool and die, metal stamping, forming and assembly, bending and fabrication products, including laser and plasma cutting, coil processing, roll forming, plate and structural fabricating, saws and cut-off machines, tooling, press brakes, shears, punching, and tube and pipe equipment. The next event is scheduled for May 6-8, 2014 in Mexico City, Mexico.
